The diamond ring occurs in the last few seconds
before totality begins and ends. It is caused by the last few rays of
sunlight travelling down the valleys of the moon just before the sun is
totally eclipsed. It is a spectacular event. This fantastic shot by
Liam captures it brilliantly.
