This is the female Kudu and what a beautiful antelope it is as well. The large ears which are distinctive to the species are clearly shown here along with the white stripes which are another distinguishing feature. Single calves are usually born during the summer months and usually hide in dense undergrowth until they are strong enough to join the herd. This normally only takes a few days. Photo: Mark Dowling |
